There are true dental Insurance Plans and discount plans. Make sure you understand the difference. Most dental plans have waiting periods based on what services you need. Normally basic services like cleanings have no waiting periods, fillings have a 6 month and crown have a 12 month waiting period. Plans without waiting periods are more expensive. Discount Plans normally have no waiting periods because the plan only provides a discount and does not pay anything. 

Also, most dental plans have a maximum amount they pay per person per year. 

Most plans have networks of dentist. If you go out of this network, you have reduced or no benefits. Therefor make sure that your Dentist is in network if you have a preferred dentist.

Orthodontics are normally only covered for children and the plans have a lifetime maximum benefit.

Implants are not covered under almost all plans.

1. You must pick a frame from their recommendation otherwise you get an allowance for other frames.

2. You can have a frame once every two years and contacts every 12month.

3. Eye exams are covered at 100% or you pay a co-pay
